The mission of the Foundation is to carry out the wishes of the late Koster family by providing grants to tax exempt organizations for the following purposes:
- Provide scholarships and financial assistance to musically talented children and young adults in their musical education pursuits.
- Promote the preservation of Yiddish culture, including, but not limited to, the Yiddish language, theater and scholarship.
- Assist immigrants to the United States, especially Jewish immigrants by providing housing, language, job training and other services to them.
